Kass O’Brien Ceramics

Kass O'Brien received her MFA in photography at Cranbrook Academy of Art. After leaving Michigan, Kass moved to South Florida where she taught art to young children. Kass's love of ceramics came during that time — through experimenting with clay she found her childhood again. Whether it is seaweed that has washed ashore or a leaf that has fallen from a tree, Kass is inspired by the natural world, transferring these gratifying moments into each piece she creates. With a process much like writing a novel, Kass believes throwing a pot is just one chapter, and her signature appliquéing technique is what truly sets her work apart and completes the story.
